Valentines Day and Mental Health

Heads Up!

Valentine's Day has the potential to impact individuals' mental well-being in various manners. It has been observed to induce emotions of solitude, unease, weariness, and irritability. For those in relationships, Valentine's Day can become a source of stress due to the pressure to exhibit love in a romantic manner or evoke feelings of pain and sorrow.

This is particularly true for those grappling with mental health challenges such as depression, grief or post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), as these conditions have the potential to elicit detrimental negative emotions.

To ensure your well-being on Valentine's Day, here are a few recommendations:

Pray, Seek God

1. Commemorate your relationship with yourself.

2. Invest in nurturing your relationships.

3. Engage in mindfulness practices.

4. Seek assistance if necessary.

5. Disconnect from social media.

6. Treat yourself with kindness.

7. Maintain your daily routine.

8. Steer clear of triggers that may bring memories from past relationships.

9. Arrange a gathering with single friends.

10. Make someone else feel special.

11. Spend time with family and friends.
